A Week of New
I learnt the last few days that it's not just important to treat my eyes to visual goodness. It's also important to treat my ears to new sounds, and get eargasms occasionally. (The eargasm part is optional. It's like a bonus, but not necessary.)
Specialising in visual arts in my last two years in ABM has put a certain emphasis on attending exhibitions, looking, understanding and curating works that can be seen. As a result, my other senses have been neglected. An impromptu trip to Lowercase and Lasalle for The Art of Sound on Tuesday and Saturday's rendezvous at Home Club for the last Blur Hour Sessions (which I sadly had to leave at 9 to not break curfew) have knocked that realisation into my closed up mind.
So, in honour of my virgin trip to a club (though I'm not sure it's considered a club) and this realisation, I'm starting a series called .5 (read as point five) that will last for the next 2 months. In it, aside from (what I try to make weekly) my regular posts, there is going to be an additional post where it records what each of our five senses has come in contact with. Yes, I said "our". This series is open to anyone and everyone so drop me a message if you want to contribute and I haven't already contacted you!
Stay tuned for the first post - it's scheduled to be posted sometime next week!
