#stupra

stupra is short for Studio Practice, a module the Visual Arts kids have to take now. It's really interesting and by far the module I'm most interested in for the new semester. It's like, our one and only practical, hands-on class in our entire three years of completing this diploma. Today was our first lesson and well, it as okay. haha I bet you were expecting something like awesome or horrible or something. But no, it was just okay.

One of the assignments for this module includes doing a journal to record the thoughts and reflections and progress of our work. So, what better place than here, where it can be accessed anywhere and never get lost (because google backs up your stuff 3 times the moment you hit "publish". Did you know that?). Okay, back to today.

Lesson One : Screen Printing #1
Today, we brainstormed, sketched and basically designed our prints. It's a pity it's only 4 weeks long and so we're not going to use the proper machines and actually use the emulsion to make the screen. And because of the time constraints, our screens are just going to be manufactured by some producer somewhere. At least I can say I know a lot more about screen printing now! I might consolidate everything into a post at the end of all these lessons. No promises though. So for now, here's a sketch of part of my design!
